Careers Fairs

Involving a range of employers and organisations, Careers Fairs are an opportunity for your pupils to meet employers and find out about different jobs and businesses all in one place. The fairs are interactive and suitable for both key stage 2 and 3 and give you the opportunity to build strong relationships with local employers.

Careers Fairs can be completely tailored to meet your needs and can be arranged as part of a bigger programme such as a Careers or Enterprise week in school, a 'one off' event during the year, in collaboration with a cluster of schools or even on a theme such as STEM.

They really complement other work related activities that are going on in your school and give you and your pupils access to a large number of employers from different industry sectors all on one day!

A great contribution to the new Ofsted Framework for primary schools that requires; "pupils are prepared for the next stage of their education, training and/or employment" with schools being judged on the extent to which learners develop workplace and other skills that will contribute to their economic wellbeing.

CASE STUDY - Oldham Primary School Cluster Careers Fair

A Careers Fair was held for 24 of Oldham's primary schools, targeting their Year 5 children. Around 1000 children attended the event held at Mahdlo Youth Zone where they were abel to meet over 40 businesses and organisations from a wide variety of sectors.

Each exhibitor brought along an interactive activity and children had the chance to get hands on with everything from potting seeds, wiring circuit boards and pitch and putt golf to role play acting, performing arts and meeting a real life skeleton to learn all about bones and muscles. The children also had the chance to meet the Deputy Youth Mayor for Oldham to quiz him on his role on the Youth Council.

The event had such positive feedback from all involved and we are very much looking forward to running the event again next year!

CASE STUDY - Abbey Gate College Infant & Junior School Careers Fair

Mploy Solutions organised a Careers Fair for Year 5 and 6 children from Abbey Gate Junior School along with children from 4 other local schools who were invited to the event.

The children had the opportunity to meet a wide variety of business from the local area and further afield and they got to ask lots of questions to discover as much as they could about the different exhibitors there. It was a great opportunity for the children to find out about different jobs and careers in a number of vocational areas whilst also learning about the skills they may need when considering these options later in life.

During lunch, the school offered the exhibitors guided tours of Abbey Gate in particular showing their newly built sports and teaching pavillion which was gratefully received by all.

What our clients say

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for today! Feedback from the teachers has been great... except they think we need to run the fair longer as the children were enjoying it so much. Key Stage 1 children also loved the afternoon... not sure how I'm gonna top it!
